Metaktik Welcomes Distinguished Advisors

On March 1, Metaktik officially launched as a high-tech spin-off from Aalto University’s Small Satellite Laboratory. Originating from a Business Finland-funded Research to Business space project, the initiative has now evolved into a dedicated communication, defence, and aerospace deep-tech company.

To guide the company's strategic growth, Metaktik has partnered with two distinguished advisors: Major General (ret.) Juha-Pekka Keränen and Tiina Laisi-Puheloinen, CEO of FiBAN.

Keränen notes: "This technology enables an entirely new class of antenna solutions poised to elevate the potential of dual-use technologies.”

Laisi-Puheloinen highlighted her excitement to help build the company's future, pointing to Metaktik's combination of world-class metasurface technology and a clear mission to deliver superior capabilities for aerospace and defence.

Next-Generation Metasurface Antennas Traditional radar and communication systems are often heavy and rigid. Metaktik is shifting this paradigm with ultra-thin metasurface antennas designed specifically for contested environments.

These advancements allow communication, decoy, and jamming antennas to be integrated seamlessly into unmanned systems or carried by foot patrols. By making radar systems lighter, more energy-efficient, and significantly harder to detect, the antennas enable more capable Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), lighter Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) with improved endurance, and enhanced Counter-UAS radar performance.
